Floor colour occupies a large part of your view. A well-chosen sample helps balance personality with everyday practicality.
View a physical sample in your space. An on-screen image cannot confirm the final colour.
Start with the elements that stay
Look at the door, cabinets and walls. Neutral greys integrate easily; warmer blends can complement brick or wood. Avoid choosing each element independently without considering the whole room.
Daylight and artificial lighting change perception. View the sample near the door and at the back of the garage, at different times if possible.
Separate pattern, flake size and sheen
Flake size and distribution affect visual rhythm. A high-contrast blend looks busier than a tonal palette. The sheen of the final coat adds another dimension.
Colour names differ between suppliers. Confirm the physical blend rather than relying on a name seen on another website.
Choose for everyday use
A varied blend can make small amounts of dirt less noticeable without making it disappear. Abrasive particles still need removal. Colour does not replace maintenance.
Discuss texture too. It affects cleaning and the feel underfoot. Your choice for a working garage may differ from one mainly used for storage.
Your checklist
- Coordinate walls and cabinets
- Check in two lighting conditions
- Approve flake size and sheen
- Confirm the physical blend
- Match texture to use
Recommendations must be adapted to the substrate and documentation for the installed system. This article does not replace a site assessment.
